Oracle Exalytics - underwhelming for non Essbase users...
Monday, October 3, 2011 at 02:04PM Engineered HW running Hyperion and TimesTen for folks running Hyperion planning applications, Essbase or TimesTen custom apps. Can't really see what else there is to it.
Here is what I've deciphered so far.
"Sits on top of all your data and allows real-time querying" means any data you can import via SQL that you query using Essbase or apps sitting on top of Essbase.
"Integrated with Exadata" means Infiniband access to Exadata
"Queries unstructured data" means write apps that turn unstructured data into structured data using other apps, load that data into 11g then import that data into Essbase for inclusing in your analytics apps...
If you are running Hyperion planning and want to make it go faster, this seems like a no brainer vs. rolling your own hw solution....
